LeRoy Arnold Anderson, 83, of Owatonna, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Valleyview of Owatonna. He was born August 27, 1929 in Albert Lea the son of Arnold and Anetta (Mayland) Anderson. LeRoy served in the US Army in Germany. He married Marcella Gerdts Sept. 21, 1957 and the couple lived in Owatonna. LeRoy worked for the City of Owatonna as a Heavy Equipment Operator and on the city tree crew. He enjoyed deer, goose and turkey hunting, fishing and riding motorcycle later in his life. He was a member of Steele Wheels and Retreads Motorcycle Clubs. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Thorn of Owatonna, Kari (and Scott) Bastian of Rochester; sons, Mike Anderson of Maple Grove, Greg Anderson of Golden Valley; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Clayton (and Barbara) Anderson of Owatonna; sisters, Janice (and Richard) Christianson of Austin, Marilyn Warday of Joliet, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister and one great grandchild. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 5pm to 8pm and on Friday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Funeral services will be held July 26, 2013 at 1:30pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with Intern Pastor Minna Quint officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
