LeRoy "Butch" DeMoss, 69, of Owatonna, MN formerly of Ottawa, IL died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Owatonna Care Center from complications due to Multiple Sclerosis. LeRoy Edward DeMoss was born January 3, 1942 in Ottawa, Illinois the son of Everett and Marjorie (Walker) DeMoss. He graduated from Ottawa High School and then attended Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby, IL. He was united in marriage to Elaine Johnson on December 27, 1969 in Ottawa. Butch worked for Hillyards Bowling Alley and for Jordan True Value in Ottawa until 1991. He then began his own painting business, but retired in March 1992 after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. They moved to Owatonna in 2006. Butch enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, woodworking and fishing. He is survived by his wife Elaine DeMoss of Owatonna; a son, Sean DeMoss of Owatonna; two sisters, Natalie Ekdahl of Ottawa; Mary Ann (and John) Ratcliff of Nashotah, WI; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, August 22, 2011 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 22, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Charles Espy officiating. Memorials are preferred to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
