LeRoy A. Wolters 78, of Owatonna, passed away peacefully Thursday at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester. He was born December 7, 1929 in Owatonna, the son of Irving and Harrieth (Gasner) Wolters. He graduated from OHS in 1947 and was active with the National Guard, and served during the Korean Conflict. LeRoy married LaVonne Radel June 26, 1954 at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He worked at Jostens, and then he and his brother farmed in Meriden Township, and they also had a milk can route for the Claremont Creamery. LeRoy then worked for OTC for thirty-one years retiring in 1991. After retirement he had various part time jobs at Wholesale Tire, St. John Cemetery and driving the VA bus to the Vets Hospital. LeRoy was a member of the Eagles, American Legion, St. John Lutheran Church and Senior Place, he also was an avid sports fan, enjoyed fishing, traveling, dancing to old time music, walking, wintering in Arizona, and most of all spending time with his family. LeRoy is survived by his wife LaVonne, daughter Lisa Wolters of Fountain Hills, AZ, sons Lynn Wolters, and James Wolters both of Owatonna, six grandchildren Shayne, Abilyn, Aaron, Kelsey, Hannah, and Janeen and one great grandson Carter. He is also survived by his brother Myron (Bev) Wolters of Owatonna, and sister Lorraine (Lowell) Carpenter of Mankato. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Glenn. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday September 21 from 6-9PM and at St. John Lutheran Church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday September 22, at 10:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna with military honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church, Senior Place or the donor''s choice.
