Leslie Orlando Broin, 84, of Byron, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at Season's Hospice in Rochester from congestive heart failure. Leslie Orlando Broin was born March 18, 1924 in Cherry Grove Township, Minnesota the son of John and Anna (Kvittem) Broin. He was raised and attended country school in Goodhue County. Leslie was united in marriage to Mildred Schoenrock on September 6, 1952 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. They farmed in Goodhue Township until retiring and moving to Byron in 1997. He was an active member at Hegre Lutheran Church of Kenyon holding various jobs. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family. He is survived and will be missed by his wife of 56 years, Mildred Broin of Byron, two daughters, Denise (and Jeff) Bishop of Terre Haute, IN; DeAnn (and Jeff) Boe of Byron, two sisters, Stella (and Alvin) Anderson of Rochester, Gladys Swenson of Wanamingo, a brother, Arnold Broin of Red Wing, and three grandchildren, Katelyn Bishop of Raleigh, NC; and Jacob and Jordyn Boe of Byron. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna Broin, a brother and two nephews. Visitation will be at Christ Lutheran Church, Byron, Minnesota on Friday, February 13, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, Byron, Minnesota with Pastor Dave Rossow officiating. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery in Kenyon. Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church in Byron or Season''s Hospice of Rochester. Arrangements are with the Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon, Minnesota.
