Leslie E. Middlestadt, 91, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Sterling House in Owatonna. He was born July 17, 1919 in Havana Township, Minnesota the son of Emil and Ida (Muederking) Middlestadt. Leslie attended country school in Havana Township, and started working on the family farm at a young age. He was united in marriage to Katherine Finch November 24, 1945 at the Methodist Church in Ellendale. Leslie farmed his entire life in Havana Township. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, especially the Twins, and his favorite team the Yankees. Leslie also enjoyed going to the Kernel Restaurant for morning coffee and to find out what the latest news was. Most important to him was his family, daughter Christine, son in law John, and grandson Nathan. He is survived by his daughter, Christine (and John) Warga of Westminster, CO, grandson Nathan Warga, brother in law Erling Prestegard and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine, two sisters and one brother. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 4-7 PM and at St. John Lutheran Church on Monday, one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held Monday November 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Havana Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church.
