Leverne D. Vangsness, age 84 of Kenyon and Faribault passed away Dec. 2, 2011. The oldest of 3 sons born to Clarence and Esther (Foss) Vangsness. Born in rural Kenyon but lived in Roseglen, ND until 36'' when the family returned back to Kenyon. Graduated from rural country school in 41'' Kenyon high in 45''. Served in the Navy from Mar. 45'' till Sept. 46''. Graduated agricultural school at the U of M 49' -6th in his class of 92 students. Married LaVerne H. Brendemuehl in Jan 56''. 4 sons and 1 daughter born to this union. President of Lutheran Student Association. President of Wanamingo Township Farm Bureau. President of Kenyon PTA. FFA honorary Farmer. 4H club leader. 4H softball coach, taught Sunday School. Belonged to the Holden Church Choir. Norseman men''s chorus. Treasurer of the Cannon River Conference. Bethel Bible study class 2yr and taught the class for 2 yrs. Lutheran men in Mission for 3 conferences. Leverne enjoyed farming, being with his family, traveling, playing cards and dancing.. Married Pat Ellerbusch in July of 06''no children resulted. Survived by wife Pat Ellerbusch; 3 sons- Craig (Mary), Arden (Trudy) and Eldon Vangsness all of Kenyon. Marlis (Jon) Stehr of Zumbrota. 9 grandchildren Katie (Mike) Block, Troy, Ian, Robert, Sarah Vangsness, Mat Terwilliger, Grady, Flinton, and Nikki Stehr. Also 1 great grandchild, Ryan Block. And his inherited surviving family. Deb (Brian),Darla (Steve), Kurt, Rae Lynn, Maury (Shannon). Grandchildren Charith Seth Asher Eric Samantha Troy Christopher Austin John Savannah Chandler Sara (John) Jerrad and great-grandchildren Tyler and Cecelia. He is also survived by sister in law Beverly Vangsness of Adams, MN, nephews Steven (June) Vangsness, David (Julie) Vangsness, and niece Karen (Randy) Trom.
