Lila Loretta Sticha, 90, of Owatonna, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born April 10, 1922 in Eagle Bend, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Anna (Conley) Farrell. Lila grew up in Eagle Bend, MN and attended school in that area. Lila was united in marriage to William Sticha on February 25, 1942, and the couple lived in Northern Minnesota before moving to the Owatonna area. Lila was a very hard working lady and had many different jobs, including working at the Owatonna Care Center for many years. William died in February of 1983. Lila has made her home at the Brooks in Owatonna for the past six years; while there, she enjoyed the company of the other residents, and liked working on puzzles and playing cards. In her spare time Lila loved gardening, yard work, crafts, and spending time with her family. She had a clever wit and cozy presence about her, she was truly a comforting soul. She is survived by her children Gary (and Jane) Sticha, John Sticha, and Renee Gillespie all of Owatonna, five grandchildren John Patrick (and Martine) Sticha, Andrew (and Jamie) Sticha, Erin (and Justin Ohnstad) Gillespie, Katie Gillespie, and Ryan (and Jeremy) Jirele. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and one sister, Irene Erickson of Clarissa, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, daughter Barbara Jean, son Bruce, granddaughter Jayme Sticha, nine brothers, and one sister. Visitation will be at The Associated Church on Wednesday September 26, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 26, 2012 at 1:00 PM at The Associated Church with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery in Clotho, MN.
