Linda Beth Jewison, 78, of Owatonna, died Saturday, December 16, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

She was born September 3, 1945 in St. Peter, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Olive (Anderson) Fitzke. She grew up on a farm between Nicollet and St. Peter. She graduated from Nicollet High School, Class of 1963.

Linda worked as a Credit Manager at Wenger Corporation in Owatonna, retiring at age 53. She married Richard Jewison during the Christmas season in 1963, at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland, Minnesota, and celebrated 43 years together.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking, canning, sea shelling, reading, traveling and watching cooking shows. She was a member of the Heritage Quilters, Minnesota State Quilters, Brooktree Ladies Golf League and enjoyed monthly breakfasts with other retired women from Wenger.

Linda's quilting skills earned her many ribbons at the Steele County Free Fair. One quilt even made it to the Minnesota State Fair. Following her first breast cancer event, Richard treated her to a trip to the Arctic Circle to catch tons of huge fish. She wasn't known for her navigation skills, but knew where all the rest stops were – you know, the important places. She allowed guests to cook in her kitchen, but never shied away from instruction – things should be done her way. She kept a tidy "dream home" with a "no pets" policy. Any messy task had to be completed in the garage. The challenge to keep the deer out of the garden led to many experimental techniques, but the deer always won, even broke her pretty bird bath. She will be dearly missed by many who knew her.

She is survived by her nieces; nephews; cousins; in-laws; many life-long friends; the best neighbors and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Albert and Olive and siblings, Douglas Fitzke, Alene Gabbert, Burton Fitzke and Bruce Fitzke.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Owatonna with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Greg Schlicker will officiate. Livestream of the service at https://wearelivetoday.com/linda-jewison.
