Lloyd Everett VanHoff, 94, of Kenyon, Minnesota, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Kenyon Sunset Home. Lloyd was born July 26, 1918 in Pocahontas County, Iowa the son of August and Elsena (Coleman) VanHoff. Lloyd worked as a hired man in his younger years. He was united in marriage to Agnes Mae Andersen on November 2, 1941 at the Methodist Church in Manson, IA. The couple moved to the Kenyon area in 1943. Lloyd farmed and worked at Kenyon Egg and Poultry. He also worked at the Avery Fertilizer Plant near West Concord, and later for the Owatonna Canning Company at the Kenyon site. After retirement, Lloyd helped his son-in-law David, on the farm. Lloyd was a very good mechanic. He loved to visit with people and was a kind and gentle man. He loved to fish and go camping near Waterville, Minnesota. Lloyd and Agnes traveled with friends, in their camper, to Florida and Texas. He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, woodworking, gardening and spending time with family. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 71 years Agnes VanHoff of Kenyon; two daughters, Carol Ann (and David) Baker of Kenyon; Sharon Kay Halvorsen (Orin Youngdahl) of Gulfport, MS; a son, Alan Lloyd (and June) VanHoff of Owatonna; a sister, Minnie VanHoff-Whitlock of Fort Dodge, IA; 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Visitation will be at Gol Lutheran Church on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Gol Lutheran Church with the Reverend Marvin Kormann officiating. Interment will be in the Gol Lutheran Cemetery in rural Kenyon. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon.
