Obituary

Lois Jean Koss, 61, of Zumbrota, died Tuesday, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born November 2, 1948 in Faribault, Minnesota the daughter of Lloyd and Agnes (Qualle) Lawson. She was raised in the Kenyon, West Concord area attending elementary school in West Concord and graduating from Kenyon High School in 1966. She then worked for Foldcraft in Kenyon for a number of years before attending nursing school in Faribault. There she graduated in 1980. She worked at area nursing homes including Zumbrota, Cannon Falls, Dodge Center, Pine Island, Faribault, and in Tucson, AZ. She most recently was employed at Golden Living Center Rochester East as clinical manager and staff nurse. Lois enjoyed crocheting. She made afghans for newborns and other family and friends. She also enjoyed baking and making lefse. She is survived by son, Lenny Koss of Zumbrota; a brother, Larry (and Teresa) Lawson of Zumbrota; three sisters, June (and Alan) VanHoff of Owatonna; Mary Ellen Lawson of La Crosse; Gail Lager of Rochester; also two special nephews that she helped raise, Leroy Elliot and Jeffrey Elliot of Dysart, IA. Lois was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Agnes Lawson; a sister, Zelda Elliot; and her nephew Tony Elliot Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Friday, December 4 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Hegre Lutheran Church, West Concord with Pastor Richard Hegal officiating. Interment will be in the Hegre Lutheran Cemetery, West Concord. Visitation: 12/04/2009 16:00 12/04/2009 20:00 Service: and one hour prior to the service in the church 12/05/2009 13:00
