Lois Kathryn Voss, 80, of Owatonna, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Anoka Care Center. She was born January 26, 1929 in Faribault the daughter of Willard and Amelia (Nelson) Thamert. Lois graduated from Owatonna High School. She worked for Kelly Co. and Federated Insurance prior to her marriage. Lois married Kenneth Voss Sept. 25, 1948 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Owatonna. Lois continued to work at Federated for a time following her marriage. She was a caring compassionate person that served as the primary caregiver for her parents, her husband's parents and later for her husband also. Lois had been an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She served as the Poppy Chairman for several years and was very proud of her Poppy Counter Card sales. She enjoyed gardening, loved animals, and had several pets over the years including two very special cats. Lois' friends and neighbors were also an important part of her life. She is survived by her son, Kevin (and Connie) Voss of Circle Pines; granddaughter, Kelsey Voss of Circle Pines and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30am to 11:00am. Funeral services will be held October 7, 2009 at 11:00am at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend James Oberg officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
