Lola Mae Sorensen, 97, of Owatonna, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Traditions II. She was born July 13, 1917 in Montezuma, IA, the daughter of Delbert and Sophronia (Fleener) Quaintance. Lola was united in marriage to Theodore Sorensen on August 6, 1936 in Worthington, MN. The couple moved to Hartley, IA and later to Ruthven, IA. In 1947 they moved to West Concord and later to Wanamingo. In 1952 they moved to the Owatonna area. They resided in Claremont from 1978 until 2002. Lola enjoyed crafts, dancing, cooking, snowmobiling, taking care of children, and watching All Star Wrestling. She is survived by her children Gloria (Paul) Hokanson of Cannon Falls, Wanita Wilkie of Medford, Ted (Arlene) Sorensen of Owatonna, William (Linda) Sorensen of Owatonna, Michael (Janet) Sorensen of Medford, Deborah Ellis of Claremont, and Darla (John) Berg of Claremont. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, and 40 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Theodore Sorensen on July 13, 2005, daughter LaJean, 2 sisters Mabel Sage and Dorothy Wilcox, 6 brothers; John, Leland, Oren, Edmond, Lester, and Jerald, son in law Calvin Wilkie, 2 infant grandsons, and 1 infant great great grandson. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Reverend Sarah Nietz officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
