Lora A. Hoffman, 95, died on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Whispering Oak Place in Ellendale.

Lora was born on December 27, 1927, the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Marek) Kading in Owatonna. She grew up in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1946. On August 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Fred Henry Hoffman. They made their home two blocks away from where Lora grew up. She worked for Jostens and later worked at Owatonna Peoples Press as an ad setter. Lora volunteered for many years at blood drives, senior place and many other. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for nearly 60 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was known to always carry a project with her. She made hundreds of Barbie doll knitted clothing. She crocheted many doilies, Christmas decorations and afghans. Lora clipped coupons for service members. She was a frequent participant at Senior Place in Owatonna and she especially like balloon volleyball and bingo. Lora was an avid bird watcher and would do anything she could to keep the squirrels away.

She is survived by her daughter Barb (and Jerry) Kaplan of Blooming Prairie, daughter-in-law Kathy Hoffman, grandchildren Mandy (and Paul) Booth, Nicole Kaplan (and Derek Storey), Dustin (and Brandi) Hoffman, great grandchildren Abbie and Lillie Booth and Chelsea, Morgan and Henry Storey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred Hoffman, son Jim Hoffman, grandson Eric Kaplan, sister Luella Holmen and brother Floyd Kading.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will take place later in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
