Lorenz L. Wilker, 81, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born September 29, 1930 in, Waseca the son of Ewald and Elizabeth (Mundt) Wilker. Lorenz graduated from OHS with the class of 1948, and married Carol Shaske November 25, 1953 in Nerstrand. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956, and then started farming with his father in Meriden Township. Lorenz and Carol moved into Owatonna in 1996. He was a member of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church Meriden, where he was on the church council, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Lorenz sang with the Golden Tones, was involved in the Little Theater of Owatonna, a 4-H Leader and involved with the Central Co-Op. Some of his hobbies included singing, playing cards, and making trips to Dairy Queen. He is survived by his wife Carol Wilker of Owatonna, seven children Wendell (and Deb) Wilker of Owatonna, Nancy Miller of Rochester, Margie (and John) Meixner of Owatonna, Susan (and Murray) Langer of Owatonna, Mark (and Karen) Wilker of Waseca, Paul (and Heidi) Wilker of New Ulm, and Amy (and Will) Swain of Waseca. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister Iona Halsey of Tennessee, and one brother John (and Phyllis) Wilker of California.; He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, and one brother. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday January 13, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with The Reverend Gary Rusinko officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
