Lorraine G. Amazi, 87, of Owatonna, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born February 15, 1926 in Fletcher, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Rosa () Schlegel. Lorraine grew up and attended school in Fletcher, MN. She then was united in marriage to Raymond Amazi on June 5, 1948 in Fletcher, MN. The couple lived in Anoka, Slayton, and Madelia, before moving to Owatonna in 1972. Raymond died in 1976. Lorraine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Mission Society, and the Catholic Daughters. She was also involved with the VFW Auxiliary and the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, baking, canning, gardening, crocheting, making Lefse, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is survived by children, Raeann (and Marshall) Carlson of Litchfield, Greg (and Kristi) Amazi of Owatonna, Barbara (and Doug) Heger of Foley, Chris (and Lynn) Peterson of Kasson, Wayne (and Terese) Amazi of Austin, and Glenn Amazi of Malibu, CA. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two sisters Germaine Beaudry of St. Michael, Caroline Bebeau of Emily, and brother Raymond Schlegel of Champlain. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, sister Luella, and brother Leonard. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday May 12, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Catholic Daughter''s Rosary at 5:00 P.M. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held Monday May 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Michael Cronin officiating. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
