Lorraine "Bess" Barbara Beese, 86, of Owatonna, died Monday, February 19, 2024, at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna.

Bess was born March 24, 1937 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Lavern and Agnes (Truhlar) Behsman. She lived in a number of places in the while her father followed work on the pipeline. Eventually the family settled in Owatonna where Bess went to school and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1955. While in high school she began working at Jostens.

Bess married Harlan Beese on June 7, 1959, and they had two children, Scott and Sheri. Along with being a homemaker, she continued working at Jostens for 48 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Owatonna. Bess enjoyed feeding the birds and sitting on the front porch. She was the best mother, grandma and great-grandma and loves spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Scott Beese and Sheri (Jeff) Peach both of Owatonna; grandchildren, Jake Beese, Zach Beese, Josh (Danae) Beese, Katie (Brody) Voss all of Owatonna and Daniel (Shelby) Peach of Blooming Prairie; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Harlynn Voss and Piper and Rya Beese and sisters, Janet Paulson of Owatonna, Vicki Behsman of Rochester and Doris Hauser of Nashville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavern and Agnes; husband, Harlan Beese.

A celebration of life will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 5-7pm.
