Lorraine J. Hanson, 92, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Koda Living Community.
Lorraine Justine Warsinski was born April 16, 1924 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of John Jack and Josephine (Rogalla) Warsinski. She spent her life in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School, Class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Ronald L. Hanson on March 9, 1946. She became an active volunteer in various programs. She organized the Steele County bloodmobile for about 40 years, volunteered with the Red Cross, served on the Cedar Valley Nursing Home board, served over 1000 hours at the Pink Pantry at the hospital, worked as a dispensary nurse at the State School until it closed, volunteered at the Steele County Historical Society, taught figure skating to the girl scouts, worked with the phone counseling service called Contact, and served at Trinity Lutheran Church on the council, education board, and the altar guild. For all her efforts, she was awarded the Book of Golden Deeds in 1986.
She is survived by children, John (Linda) Hanson of Big Fork, MN, Jane (Gary) Hunstiger of Waconia, MN and James (Maureen Roberts) Hanson of White Bear Lake, MN; four grandchildren, Molly (Rob) Bliss, Karen (Melissa) Hunstiger, Catherine Hanson and Lucas Hanson; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Adele and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Josephine Warsinski; husband, Ronald Hanson (Dec. 27, 2004).
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Reverend John Hanson and Reverend Amanda Weinkauf officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
