Lorraine Lent, age 91, of Owatonna, died Friday, February 13, 2026, at Owatonna Hospital.

Lorraine Delores Olson was born on October 31, 1934, near Hartland, Minnesota. Her parents were Narvin and Gunda (Rugroden) Olson. Soon after, the family moved to their farm in Berlin Township, Steele County. Lorraine attended country school right up the hill in Berlin. Lorraine graduated from Ellendale High School. After working at Jostens for several years, Lorraine married John Lent on January 2, 1955. They lived on Army bases while John completed his service.

Children began arriving in 1956. Lorraine and John moved back to Albert Lea, Minnesota, and later Owatonna. Lorraine eventually returned to working at Josten's until her retirement. Lorraine and John lived on their small farm near Steele Center for many happy years. In 2021, Lorraine moved to Countryside Assisted Living and enjoyed many happy years there, thanks to the residents and staff at Countryside.

Lorraine was very proud of her Norwegian heritage while growing up with many Norwegian fluent relatives. When you were visiting with Lorraine, she had a gift for making you smile while knowing she was happy to be with you.

John and Lorraine raised four above average children, Rick (Elizabeth) Lent of Hackensack, Greg (Lori) Lent of Kronenwetter, WI, Sue (Don) Nelson of Blooming Prairie, and Janet (Dave) Nelson of Owatonna; Four grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Seubert, Darby (Jay) Throne, Cooper Nelson, and Delaney Nelson (Sergi Torres); Four great grandchildren, Abby Seubert, Kylie Seubert, Landyn Throne, and Letty Throne; sister, Nadine Strenge; sister-in-law, Ruthanne Chilson; and goddaughter, Dianna Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Narvin and Gunda; brother, Ellsworth; and sister, Bernice.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna with a visitation starting at 9:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to LeSeur River Lutheran Church of New Richland and Trinity Lutheran Church of Owatonna.
