Lorraine Eleanor Thiele, 93, of Owatonna, died Monday, February 1, 2016 at her home with her family.
She was born May 24, 1922 in Faribault the daughter of William and Harriet (Burke) Eastling. Lorraine was born and raised in Faribault. She spent her early years working in the family grocery store. Lorraine was voted Most Athletic Girl her junior, and senior years at Faribault High School. She married Elmer June 8th, 1946, and adapted well to the hard work associated with dairy farm life. She worked side by side with Elmer, and together they raised a family of four. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. Lorraine worked at Federated Insurance prior to, and after raising their family. After 27 years with Federated, she retired as a Rate Supervisor, and a proud member of the Quarter Century Club. Lorraine also enjoyed a rare distinction as a 25+ year retired member of the Quarter Century Club. Lorraine was a founding member of the Ducum Extension Club, a Co-Key leader of the Hope Hustlers 4-H Club, and an avid blood donor. Lorraine loved sports, dancing, card playing, fishing, cooking, sewing and her Grandchildren. Family meant everything to Mom. She will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (and Steven) Keister of Stillwater; sons, Tom Thiele of Owatonna, Terry (and Kathryn) Thiele of Maple Lake, Todd (and LeahNe) Thiele of Blaine; grandchildren, Scott (and Regina) Keister, Bryan (and Carissa) Keister, Megan (and Timothy) Palm, Katelyn Thiele, Benjamin Thiele, Anna Thiele, Grace Thiele, Quinton Thiele, Walker Thiele; great grandchildren, Sabine Keister, Tristan Keister, Odin Palm, Magdalyn Palm.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Thiele; brothers, William Eastling, Lyle Eastling; great grandson, Nolan Magnus Keister; great granddaughter, Evelyn Adele Keister.
Visitation will be at United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 9:30am to 11:00am. Funeral services will be held February 6, 2016 at 11am at United Methodist Church with The Reverend Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund, American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.
