Louella Mae Rhodes, 85, of Owatonna, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Homestead Hospice House. Louella Mae Nielsen was born May 2, 1925 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Louis I. and Maybelle (Schafer) Nielsen. Louella graduated from Owatonna High School and following worked at King Co. Drafting until 1952. She was united in marriage to M. Scott Rhodes on August 4, 1951 and made their home in Owatonna where she has lived her whole life. She also worked at the Cheese Barn at Cedar Mall. Louella was a member of United Methodist Church and was active in circles, Elks Club, and Owatonna Country Club. She was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader and also served as a volunteer for Contact and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, traveling, gardening, canning, fishing and camping. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (and Terry) McCann of Kasson; Sally (and Duane) Wisroth of Torrington; two sons, Mitchell (and Lynn) Rhodes of Owatonna; Robert (and Sue) Rhodes of Owatonna; a brother, Ivan Nielsen of Owatonna 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Scott, and her parents, Louis I. and Maybelle Nielsen. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church with Pastor Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Care Center Recreational Department in Dodge Center, Owatonna Hospice or donor''s choice.
