Obituary

Louis Louie R. Hahn, 93, of Owatonna, Minnesota died Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Owatonna Hospital. Louis was born October 19, 1922 in Amery, Wisconsin, one of 15 children of Paul and Emma (Schuster) Hahn. He attended school in Amery, Wisconsin. Louis entered the United States Army during WWII, was stationed in the Philippines, and provided transportation for the USO. He married Doris Yule on June 14, 1945 and they made their home in Owatonna. Louis owned and operated Hahn Construction in Owatonna. He built three apartment buildings and 101 homes, including Doris's dream home, which they have resided in for 44 years. Louis earned his pilots license along with owning and operating a small two seater plane. He would fly many trips to Wisconsin. In his later years, he built his own plane and Bradley GT Sports Car. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Doris Hahn of Owatonna; his daughters, Vicky (Pres) Mendez of Owatonna and Sandra (Tom) Stephenson of Prior Lake; his son, Scott (Dolores) Hahn of Tarpon Springs, FL; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Sohrab) Bharucha, Angela Mendez, Sarah and Shauna Stephenson, Lily, Mia, and Lucy Hahn; five great grandchildren, Hudson, Annie, Izzie, Gustavo, and David; five siblings, Mildred Spindler, Ruby (Jim) Potter, Gloria Powell (Ray Amdahl), Walter Hahn, and Albert (Lois) Hahn; sisters-in-law, Janice Hahn and Pat Hahn. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Augusta Weyer, Edna Dornfeld, Rose Schmitt, Ethel Vold, Henry, Clarence, Raymond, Esther, and Melvin Hahn. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
