Louise Luella Woker, 88, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Koda Living Community in Owatonna.
Louise Abbe was born March 23, 1926 in Meriden Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Alvin H. and Elsie (Beier) Abbe. She attended rural school in Meriden and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1943. Louise married Ervin Woker on June 24, 1945 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Meriden. After their marriage, they lived in Owatonna for a year and then moved to the family farm. Louise moved to Park Place Assisted Living on December 2, 2012 and became a resident of the Koda Living Community in February of 2014. Louise worked for the bank now known as Wells Fargo for more than 20 years, retiring in 1987.
Louise was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and over the years she taught Sunday School and Bible School, kept the church financial records for 10 years and served on various committees. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, crocheting, various volunteer activities and time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis Harper of Coon Rapids, Daryl (and Sandy) Woker of Lakeville, David Woker of Owatonna, Janice Tollefson of Springfield, Corinne (and Thomas) Zangel of Mankato, and Kristine (and Ben) Drafall of Geneva, IL; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin Woker; sons-in-law, Jim Harper, Rob Tollefson; sisters, Loretta Zacharias and Mildred Krause; and brothers, Arnold and Lavern Abbe.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Meriden with The Reverend Patti Meyer officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Meriden. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
