Lowell Anderson, 82, of Owatonna, MN passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Owatonna Hospital.

Lowell was born on November 21, 1940, in Milbank, SD to Walter and Alice Anderson. He graduated from Strandburg HS in 1958 and then attended Gustavus Adolphus College and Augustana Seminary. He married Eleanor Johnson on August 15, 1964, in Chicago.

Lowell was ordained into the ministry of the Augustana Lutheran Synod (later becoming the ELCA) in May of 1966. During his 53 years as a pastor, he served parishes in Michigan (Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Farmington Hills) and in Indiana (LaGrange, Bloomington, Crown Point, Evansville, Crawfordsville, and Wallace). He enjoyed birdwatching, stamp collecting, gardening, canoeing, and generally helping others.

Lowell is survived by his wife Eleanor Anderson, his sons Christopher (Sherry) Anderson of Goshen, IN and Mark (Marcia) Anderson of Owatonna, MN, sister Vivian (Vern) Fauss of Casper, WY, and Granddaughters Karin Anderson and Kjerstin Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Alice Anderson of Strandburg, SD, and his bother Orville Anderson of South Shore, SD.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Owatonna with visitation one hour prior.
