Lucille (Luci) Verna Degen 84, of Owatonna, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022. Lucille was born in 1937 in Meriden, Minnesota. Born to Viola Schubert. Lucille was a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and she incorporated that into her daily life. She met and married Stan Degen in 1965. The couple had one daughter, Jodi Lee. The couple later divorced. As a mother she was generous, loving and kind. She had great pride in her daughter, and 5 grandchildren and spoiled them as much as she possibly could. Lucille recently became a great-grandmother; Deklyn Joseph Olson and she was absolutely thrilled about her family growing even bigger. In her free time, Lucille loved to play cards and games with her family as often as possible. She loved attending potlucks and going to church. She believed it was very important to stay active. Lucille worked for 20 years at the Owatonna Eagles Club, then several years at Hy-Vee. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at the Steele County Food Shelf. She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her daughter and grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her daughter Jodi (Jason) Schroeder, grandchildren Justin Huisman, Sierra Huisman (Cody Olson), Chase Huisman, Isabella and Madlyn Schroeder. Great Grandson, Deklyn Olson. One Brother, Larry (Linda) Schubert of Owatonna many nieces, nephews and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her mother and Brother Gary. There will be a service for those who would like to share their condolences with Lucille's Family on Wednesday April 13, 2022, 1-2 pm, Michaelson Funeral Home. There will be a short service in memory of Lucille starting at 1:40PM. Celebration of Life to following the Visitation at Owatonna Eagles Club 2-4. Lucille loved to play bingo -we invite you join us for Bar Bingo 6:30 pm at the Eagles in her memory.
