Lucille Violet McMahan, 90, of Owatonna, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at Countryside Senior Living in Owatonna. She was born August 7, 1921 in Waseca County, Minnesota the daughter of Robert and Helen (Schoenfeld) Braun. She was baptized into faith on August 28, 1921 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church near Janesville and confirmed her faith on May 5, 1935 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waldorf. She attended and graduated from Pemberton High School in 1939 and Lucille then attended and graduated from Mankato Commercial College in May of 1941. She was united in marriage to Clarence Robert McMahan on May 10, 1944 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato. They farmed together for 33 years in the Mapleton, Wells and West Concord areas. She was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenyon from October 1962 until December of 1980. Clarence died April 11, 1977. In July of 1980, Lucille moved to Owatonna where she had the opportunity to volunteer for various organizations and to be an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 15 years. In 1995, Lucille joined Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was an active member. She is survived by her three sons, Steven James (and Rhonda) McMahan of Medford, Paul Stanley (and Cheryl) McMahan of Andover, and John Edward (and Patricia) McMahan of Byron; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Gladys Dagan of Eagle Lake; brother, Edward (and Vivian) Braun of Pemberton; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence, brother, Lawrence Braun; two sisters, Elaine Een and Viola Witt. Visitation will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM . Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with The Reverend Greg Schlicker officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Countryside Senior Living. Arrangements are being handled by Michaelson Funeral Home.
