Lucille Elizabeth Thomas, 96, of Owatonna, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Owatonna Hospital. She was born March, 19, 1921 in Wasioja Township the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Kirchman) Gale. Lucille graduated from West Concord High School in 1939. Following high school, she worked at the AAA Office in Dodge Center and also did seasonal work at the canning factories in Dodge Center and Kenyon. Lucille married Eugene Thomas Nov. 19, 1944 in Eden and were married for 60 years before Eugene preceded her in death. Lucille was a long time member of the Eden Mother's Club and West Concord Historical Society. While living on the farm she attended the United Methodist Churches in West Concord and Dodge Center. After her move to Kasson, she attended the Kasson Presbyterian Church. Lucille enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing piano and being with her family. She taught piano for over 50 years and had up to 36 students at one time. She is survived by her son, Galen (and Debra) Thomas of Dubuque, IA; grandson, Andrew (and Katie) Thomas of Dubuque, IA; great grandsons, Jackson Thomas, Benjamin Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thomas; infant daughter, Marcia Mae Thomas; sister, Evelyn Schuelke. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 1pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Reverend Clint Patterson will be officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in West Concord.
