Obituary

Luella Marie Lorch, 91, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Kenyon Sunset Home where she was a resident for many years. Luella was born April 18, 1919 in Zumbrota, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Lula (Young) Pagel. She was united in marriage to Clarence Lorch on July 30, 1941 in Nashua, IA at the Little Brown Church and divorced in their later years. She enjoyed flower arranging and worked in several different flower shops and also at the newspaper office in Northfield. Luella has resided in Rochester; Poughkeepsie, NY; Ann Arbor, MI; and Mason City, IA, where she farmed. She is survived by three sons, Theodore (Ione) Lorch of Nerstrand, Terrance (Janice) Lorch of Mantorville, and Thomas Lorch of Rochester; two daughters, Mary Dunn of Cynthians, KY and Penny Carlson of KY; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifton (Lea) Pagel and Alton (Barbara) Pagel both of Rochester; sisters, Marion (William) Friedrich of Chatfield and Jane Mercer of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews. Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lorch; parents; and sister, Viola Noerenberg of Rochester. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00pm at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. Interment will be at a later date in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Olmsted County 4-H George Pagel Memorial Fund, Bethel Lutheran Church Youth in Rochester, and Kenyon Sunset Home in Kenyon.
