Luverne W. Jacobson, 87, formerly of Owatonna, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Northridge Care Center, New Hope. She was born September 1, 1921 in Dexter the daughter of Fred and Helen (Schultz) Willey. Luverne attended country school in rural Mower County. She married Everett Jacobson Jan. 19, 1943 in Stewartville. The couple moved to Ft. Riley, KS before returning to southern Minnesota. In 1965 the couple moved to Owatonna where Luverne lived until just a few years ago. While living in Owatonna she was employed at Dawes Our Own Hardware. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Owatonna Tops Club and the Do-Si-Do Square Dancing Club. She enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, baking and square dancing. She is survived by her son, Ronald (and Beverly) Jacobson of Maple Grove; daughter, Debra (and Michael) Hyden of Lino Lakes; daughter in law, Janet Jacobson of Rosemount; grandchildren, Karen Jacobson, Paul (and Mara) Jacobson, Seth Jacobson, Joel Jacobson, Matthew Hyden, Samuel Hyden; great grandchildren, Reagan Jacobson, Ryann Jacobson, Graham Everett Jacobson. Luverne was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; son, Stephen Jacobson and 3 sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend John Lestock officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or to the donor''s choice.
