Lyman H. Jensen, 87, of Owatonna, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1924 in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota the son of Henry and Josie (Smith) Jensen. He attended Blooming Prairie High School. Lyman enlisted in the Army Air Force on May 27, 1943 at Fort Snelling, MN. He was honorably discharged on January 3, 1946. He married Leona Sweet on January 14, 1946 and in their union had three children, Marietta, Lorene and Jim. Leona died March of 1953. He married Erma Underdahl on February 3, 1955 at Moland Lutheran Church. They farmed in rural Claremont. Lyman also worked at Owatonna Tool Company, Von Ruden Manufacturing and Washington Scientific Institute. In 2000, they moved to Owatonna. Lyman enjoyed woodworking, traveling and playing cards. He was a member of Our Savior''s Lutheran Church and past member of Peace Lutheran Church in Claremont where he served as secretary and chairman of the church council, and VFW. He is survived by his wife Erma Jensen of Owatonna; two daughters, Marietta (and Vance) Lee of Millville, and Lorene (and Dean) Worke of Waseca; one son, Jim (and Pam) Jensen of Dodge Center; ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Leona, and one brother, Russel. Visitation will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM . Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with The Reverend John Weisenburger and The Reverend Karl Korbel officiating. Interment will be in the Moland Lutheran Cemetery in Merton Township.
