Mabel A. Kamrath, 80, of Owatonna, died Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Mankato Hospital. She was born April 1, 1940, in Owatonna, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Bendorf) Boettcher. Mabel graduated from Owatonna High School in 1958. She met Leon Kamrath while square dancing and they were married on March 14, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Mabel worked for the Owatonna Public Schools as a secretary for 37 years and worked with her daughter as a daycare assistant. Mabel was passionate about teaching children and was active in many literacy and tutoring programs. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for over 54 years. Mabel was a secretary for the agriculture department and worked with the FFA children. She was also a member of the Pork Producers, Laubach and TOPS. Mabel enjoyed gardening especially her flowers, reading and shopping. She is survived by her husband, Leon Kamrath of Owatonna; three daughters, LeAnn (and Robert) Doherty of TN, Lisa (and Larry Behrens) Fisher of Fairmont and Laurel (and Shannon) Wolesky of Rochester; twelve grandchildren (LeAnn's children) Andrew (Kelli), Nicole, Patrick, Matthew, James, Christina, and William Doherty, (Lisa's children) Dakota (Michelle Lee) and Makayla Fisher, (Laurel's children) Daylon, Brendon and Madison Wolesky; three great-grandchildren, Barrett and Finley Doherty and Ryker Fisher; one sister, Bernice (Mark) Fournier of MA; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glen Boettcher. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial service will be held Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Amanda Floy officiating. Interment will be in the Steele Center Cemetery in Owatonna.
