Obituary

Mabelene A. Sage, 80, of Owatonna, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at her home. She was born August 26, 1937 in Austin, Minnesota the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Wortz) Hanson. She grew up in Lyle, Minnesota and attended high school in the Twin Cities. She was united in marriage to Walter Sage on December 28, 1957, at United Methodist Church in Owatonna. The couple has lived most of their married life in Owatonna where they raised their family. Mabelene's work outside of the home included Kentucky Fried Chicken (old location), Harts Bakery and Cashwise. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and attended Northridge Church. She enjoyed her wind chimes, reading, playing cards, baking, shopping, listening to music, watching TV and spending time on Facebook. She loved family gatherings and reunions and giving to people. She was a very independent and strong woman. Many people will remember her friendliness, generous spirit and sense of humor. She is survived by her sons, Curtis Sage of Owatonna and Jason (Sheila) Sage of Owatonna; sister, Beverly Stacken of Lino Lakes; brother, Andrew Butch (Betty) Hanson of Osage, IA; sister, Phyllis Dunlavey of Iowa; grandchildren, Kristin Luebben, Kaitlyn Roehrick, Tori Sage and Jenna Sage; great-grandchildren, Riley, Dustin, Dominic and Aurora; brother-in-law, Allen (Donna) Sage; sister-in-law, Jean Sage and nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Anna and husband, Walter. A visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Friday, October 13th from 4-7pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral services will be held 2pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna with Reverend Mark Perryman officiating. Interment will be in Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Visitation: 10/13/2017 16:00 10/13/2017 19:00 Service: and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. 10/14/2017 14:00
