Marcella Faye Roseland, 84, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Traditions of Owatonna. She was a child of the Owatonna State School Orphanage born October 15, 1924 in Pillager. She was the daughter of Clyde and Yvonne (Caimont) Brown. After being raised at the State School Orphanage she worked as a waitress at the Rolling Star Cafe and Sharkey's. Marcella married Alfred Roseland in Owatonna in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1986. She also worked for Muckle Manufacturing, Protecto and Von Ruden's Manufacturing. Marcella spent a number of years working for Federated Insurance retiring at age 65. In her retirement she enjoyed many years of working at Senior Place. Marcella was a member of Associated Church and Senior Place. Her most enjoyable time was spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, sewing and baking. She loved birds and her pets. She is survived by daughters, Judy (and Dan) Buskovick of Owatonna, Jeanette (and Scott) Christiansen of Rochester, June 'Corkey' Stephens of Owatonna, Mary Beth Kern of Owatonna; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Bernice DesMarais of St. Cloud and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; brothers, Andrew, William, Leo and sister, Marie. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4pm and on Monday from 1-2pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20 at 2:00pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with Intern Pastor Jeanne Bringgold-Pro officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the Owatonna State School Orphanage Museum or to the donor''s choice.
