Marcella A. (Scram) Meixner, 85, of Owatonna, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Koda Living Community. Marcella was born November 8, 1927 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Erna (Pogalz) Piske. She was raised in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1945. She then attended secretarial school and later worked for Rietz Law Office in Owatonna. She was united in marriage to Richard Scram on January 21, 1951 and made their home in Owatonna. Marcella continued working at the law office. Marcella would also help her husband at the Scram Grocery Store that they owned. Richard died in 1978. She then married Jerome Meixner on September 11, 1982. Jerome died in the fall of 2012. Marcella had many hobbies, including sewing, quilting, baking/decorating wedding cakes and candle making. She loved to sew and entered the 1960 Cotton Bag Sewing Contest by sewing a variety of items, entering them at the Minnesota State Fair and was awarded 1st place. Marcella went on to compete at the national level and was awarded 2nd place. She won $17,000 worth of prizes and a trip to Hollywood meeting Elvis Presley and many movie stars. Marcella also enjoyed traveling. In 1967, she took eight family members to London, Holland and Austria. Other trips included Hershey, Pennsylvania, Hawaii and Alaska. She is survived by a son James Scram of Owatonna; a daughter Sharon (and Bill) Buechner of Brooklyn Park; a sister Kathleen (and Don) Greseth of Faribault; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband Richard Scram (1978); her second husband Jerome Meixner (2012); her parents Albert and Erna Piske and a grandson William Richard Buechner. Visitation will be at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating.
