Marcene J. Langeness, 93, of Kenyon, died Friday, June 22, 2018 at Kenyon Sunset Home. She was born December 15, 1924 in Kenyon, Minnesota the daughter of John and Tilda (Ronning) Wallaker. In the fall of 1942 she went to Calhoun Commercial College for a refresher course in the commercial subjects. She worked at the Security State Bank in Kenyon from January through September of 1943. On October 16, 1943, she married Phillip Langeness at First Lutheran Church. They purchased a farm in Cherry Grove Township and started their family (the first 3 children were born here). In 1969 they rented out the farm and bought the Recreation Hall in Kenyon, which they owned for a little over 6 years. After selling the Rec Hall, she continued to work for the new owners. She also cooked for Ladies' Day at the Country Club and for Norma Jacobson at the VFW Club until her physical health forced her to quite. In 1980 she moved from the farm into Kenyon and lived in her house there until the end of 2015 when she moved to Gunderson Gardens. She was a member of Dale Lutheran Church, Dale Ladies' Aid and the VFW Auxillary.
