Margaret (Margie) Ann Schroer, 91, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2011 after a brief stay at the Homestead Hospice House. She was a long-time resident of Cedarview Care Center Margie was born to John and Mary (Machutt) Stoltman in Owatonna on June 28, 1920. Her school years were spent at St. Mary's School. She married Laurence (Larry) Schroer on June 25, 1940 at St. Hyacinths Church in Owatonna. Their wedding was the first double wedding performed at the church as Larry's brother married Margie's sister. They spent most of their first twenty years in rural Brownsdale and rural Waltham, moving back to Owatonna in 1960. Margie was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens. She made beautiful hand crafted items and opened 'Margie's Boutique' on her front porch to sell her items. Her greatest love and enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. In her later years, she also enjoyed bingo, playing rummy, and doing word search puzzles. Margie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by sons Roger (Patti) of Owatonna, and Larry (Tracy) of Glenville; daughters Patti Frechette, Kathy (James) Pantier, Sandra Schroer, and Mary Jo Pramann, all of Owatonna; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, great granddaughter Angel Varner, 11 brothers and sisters, and two sons-in-law Moses Frechette and Leroy Pramann. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday September 26, 2011 at 10 A.M at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Andrew Vogel officiating. Visitation will be Sunday September 25, 2011 from 4-7 P.M. at Michaelson Funeral Home with a Parish Rosary at 3:45, and visitation Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
