Margaret Geraldine Bock, 95, of Owatonna, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at Owatonna Hospital.
She was born October 16, 1922 in Montgomery the daughter of Joseph and Amy (Keene) Stanek. Margaret attended school in Elysian. She married Orville Bock Nov. 16, 1943 in St. Louis, MO. The couple farmed together near Morristown for 27 years. Margaret also worked at EF Johnson, was a cook for 16 years at District One Hospital, and was a baker at Dusek Bakery. She was a long time member of Blooming Grove United Methodist Church and later became a member of Peace United Methodist Church. Margaret was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for nearly 50 years.
She loved to bake and was known for her Divinity and Kolackes. On the farm she had a large garden and enjoyed canning and freezing vegetables. Margaret loved to travel, embroider towels and complete word search puzzles. You could often find her enjoying old time music.
Margaret is survived by her son, Duane (and significant other Jane) Bock of Owatonna; daughter, Eileen (and Ted) Burgess of Kenyon; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Rucks and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister and her daughter in law.
Visitation will be at Peace United Methodist Church on Saturday from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2pm at Peace United Methodist Church with Pastor Elden Eklund officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Morristown. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Peace United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice.
