Margaret L. Gruzebeck, 76, of Owatonna, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House, after a courageous battle against cancer for over ten years. She was born November 13, 1933 in Faribault, Minnesota the daughter of Ernest and Edna (Raasch) Kuntze. Margaret graduated from Faribault High School, and married Clinton Gruzebeck September 3, 1955 in Faribault, the couple later moved to Waseca and then to Owatonna in 1965. The couple was married 46 years. Margaret worked at Federated Insurance for many years, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed working part time at Cabela's. Clinton died in 2001. Margaret was a lady involved in many organizations and also volunteered her time to help others, including the Elks, Historical Society, Bloodmobile, Hospice Volunteer, Relay for Life, Red Hat Ladies, and she was also named the "Person of Hope" dealing with cancer. Margaret was a die-hard Vikings fan, enjoyed gardening, golf, travel, friends, and always had time for her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Carrie (Jeff) Knippel of Owatonna, Lori (Wes) Nelson of Ellendale, Steve (Beathe) Gruzebeck of Norway, grandchildren Lex (Ashley), Trista (Anthony), Acacia (Mike), and Tyler, great grandchildren Kenzie, Giana, Axel, Hazel, and Arya. She is also survived by her brother Charles (Sandi) Kuntze of Hills, MN, and sister in law Phyllis Gruzebeck of Edina. Her parents, husband Clinton, and two sisters Dorothy Kuntze, and Phyllis Greene preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 PM and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9-10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday March 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House or the donor''s choice.
