Margaret “Marge” Deanne French, 83, of West Concord, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at her home.

She was born June 15, 1942, in Owatonna, Minnesota, the daughter of Russell and Deloris (Erickson) Rasmussen. Marge was united in marriage to Dennis Allen French on October 31, 1959, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Marge was a manager at GAP and became known to her family as “GAP Grandma”. She also was a bus driver and sales manager for Fred Meyer.

Marge had a strong passion for horses and just loved to be around them. She loved to bake, and the name “Grandma Cookie” stayed with her as she always had cookies to share. She also enjoyed having tea parties with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as have parties with her “Granny’s Gone Wild” crew. Marge always had family and friends over at the house. They started showing up at 7 A.M. and were treated with Dunkin Donut coffee, baked goods, and a conversation.

She is survived by daughters, Denise Schwering of Claremont and Kelly (Bill) Mehling of West Concord; brothers, Steven (Myrna) Rasmussen of Michigan and Larry (Arla) Rasmussen of West Concord; sisters, Colleen Snaza of West Concord, Linda (Dan) Lulf of West Concord, and Karla (Randy) Wencl of Dodge Center; grandchildren, Curtis (Kelli) Mickelson, Scott (Emily) Mehling, Jeremy (Jana) Mickelson, Heather (Caleb) Steiger, Drew (Michael) Cutway, and Bridgett Mickelson; 16 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; parents, Russell and Deloris.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4PM to 7PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11AM at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel. A visitation will start at 10AM and continue until the start of the service. Interment will take place following the service at Concord Cemetery.
