Obituary

Margie Lorraine Pollak, 88, of Rochester, Minnesota died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Madonna Towers of Rochester. Lorraine was born December 16, 1926 in Cloquet, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Ailie (Raisanen) Klemo. Lorraine graduated from Esko High School. She worked in Duluth where she met her future husband, Ferdinand Pollak. They were married February 21, 1953. In 1953, they built their home in Cloquet where they raised their four children. Her husband, Ferdinand, died in 1981 and in 1990 she moved to Owatonna, to be near her daughter. She later moved to Prairie Meadow Sr. Living in Kasson, then Madonna Towers of Rochester. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a superb seamstress and made special quilts for all her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings at their home. Lorraine also enjoyed her time fishing with her husband, Ferdinand. Lorraine's priorities were home, church, and family which she did exceptionally well. Lorraine was an active member at St. Cashmires Catholic Church in Cloquet and she volunteered at her children's schools. She was also a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Dodge Center and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1791 Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Brenda Simmons (George Wasyluka) of Lafayette, CO, Michael (Brenda) Pollak of Golden, CO, Darice "Dee" DeBus (John Buckingham) of Kasson, MN, and David (Lisa) Pollak of Cloquet, MN; twelve grandchildren, Christopher Simmons, Jessica Stutheit, Brandon Simmons, Nathan (Dawn) Pollak, Meagan Pollak, Jonathan (Nicole) Dalager, Justine Dalager (Antonio Young), Miranda DeBus (Andrew Jech), Savannah Pollak, Tatianna Pollak, and Adrianna Pollak; twelve great grandchildren, Ethan, Mason, Payton, Dylan, Katelyn, Hossyn, Noah, Fiona, Kaybrie, Aniyah, Daxton, and Dakotah; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ferdinand; grandson, Nicholas Pollak; great granddaughter, Nevaeh Young; and brother, Melvin Klemo. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Madonna Towers of Rochester, 4001 19th Avenue NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Cloquet, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Madonna Towers or Seasons Hospice. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
