Obituary

Margot Anita (Munson) Radtke, 85, of Owatonna, died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at her son's home in Dodge Center following a ten month journey with acute myeloid leukemia. She was born September 18, 1932 in Mannheim, Germany, the daughter of Heinrich and Freida (Weiss) Scherr. She grew up in Schafheim, Germany where she attended school. Margot worked in a doll factory as a seamstress. Through a mutual friend, she was introduced to Lloyd Munson who was in the United States military and the couple was married on July 6, 1957 in Babenhausen, Germany. Margot moved to the United States settling in Claremont in the Spring of 1958, six weeks ahead of Lloyd. In 1977, the couple moved to Owatonna. Lloyd died in 2006 and on October 3, 2008, Margot married Donald Radtke. Margot worked several jobs and retired from Truth, Inc in 1996. She then became known as the little German lady who handed out food samples at Cash Wise. She enjoyed fishing trips up north to Robert's cabin, and spending time with her family. It was very important to Margot to dress and look nice. She was a member of the Senior Place and Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Ladies Bible Study. She is survived by her children, Mary Ann (and Steve) Smith, Faye (and Tom) Flemke, Richard (and Diana) Munson, Robert (and Vicki) Munson, Paula (and Steve) Madson, Gregg (and Charlotte) Radtke, Gary (and Marj) Radtke, Peggy McConnell, Lori Ann (and Richard) Boysen, Roxanne (and Michael) Dettmer, Wendy (and Keith) Fisher, Tom (and Deb) Radtke and Delane (and Raymond) Krier; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Karen (Rodney) Flom; relatives in Germany including her brother, Horst (Irena) Scherr; sister, Ursula Dietz; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heinrich and Freida; husbands, Lloyd Munson and Donald Radtke; sister, Gisela Wedel; brother Heinrich Scherr; mother-in-law, Gladys Lewis; father-in-law, Richard Munson and sister-in-law, Evelyn Lewis. Visitation will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Owatonna on Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM . Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with The Reverends John Weisenburger and Karl Korbel officiating.
