Marian "Mary" L. Rasmussen, 80, of Owatonna, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born February 19, 1933 near Morristown, Minnesota the daughter of John and Dorothy (Fell) Tramel. Marian attended a rural Steele County School through the eighth grade and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1951. She worked for Federated Insurance Company until she married Mark Rasmussen in 1954. She volunteered with the Owatonna Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years, was a board member of the Owatonna Christian Radio. She loved to crochet, and made blankets for all of her children and grandchildren. She was also a 4H Leader and volunteered as a tour guide at the Owatonna State School Cottage 11. She was a stay at home mom to four daughters. Marian enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, country and gospel music and quilting. She also liked cooking, working puzzles, and playing with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Mark Rasmussen of Owatonna, four daughters, Deonn (and Gary) Walter of Denver, CO, Anita Louise (and John) Dagle of Owatonna, Karen Renee Darwin of Florida, and Jeanne Ruth Rasmussen of St. Paul. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be at New Beginnings Christian Church of Owatonna on Thursday October 17, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at New Beginnings Christian Church of Owatonna with Reverend Scott Peterson officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer''s Association, or To New Beginnings Christian Church of Owatonna.
