Marie E. (Bartz) Krause, 99, of Owatonna, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna, Minnesota. Marie was born October 31, 1916 in Waseca County, Minnesota the daughter of Herman and Pearl (Dibble) Wilker. She married Herbert Bartz on May 2, 1934. In their union they had a son, Charles. Herbert passed away on May 27, 1985. Marie married Herbert Krause on February 4, 1989. He passed away August 31, 1997. Marie worked at J.C. Penney's and 14 years at Federated Insurance. Marie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, St. John Lutheran Seniors, and Senior Place. Marie was an excellent cook and baked hundreds of homemade apple pies that she shared generously with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Charles Bartz of Pennington, MN; grandson, Jason (Karen Gould) Bartz of Omaha, NE; granddaughter, Nancie (Jon) Breunig of St. Peters, MO; four great grandchildren, Joshua and Michael Bartz, Drew and Sophie Breunig; many extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter-in-law, Glenda Bartz; sister, Fern Zopfi; brothers, Ernest, Lyle, Clifford, Herbert, and Harvey Wilker. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Owatonna. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
