Marilynn M. Strand, 83, of Owatonna, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Clare Bridge of Owatonna. She was born January 11, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Carl and Elsie Nelson. Marilynn graduated from Minnehaha Academy, and attended Augsburg College and the University of MN Duluth, where she later taught in the dental hygiene department. She married Carl Strand on April 26, 1947, and the couple lived in Duluth for over forty years. While living in Duluth, Marilynn was very active with the Lakeside Presbyterian Church. Marilynn and Carl moved to Owatonna ten years ago. She enjoyed traveling to many different places. She is survived by her children, Mary (and George) Alland of Woodbury; Karen Miller of Deltona, FL; and David Strand of Owatonna. Five grandchildren and two great granddaughters also survive her. Her husband Carl preceded her in death in 2009. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday September 20, 2010 from 1-2 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday September 20, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
