Obituary

Marion W. (Holton) Jones, 89, of Rochester, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Madonna Towers of Rochester. Marion Wren Holton was born April 3, 1921 in Rochester, Minnesota the daughter of Jay and Frances (Kolbe) Holton. She was raised and attended school in St. Paul later graduating from there. She returned to Rochester and began working at the Mayo Clinic. Marion was united in marriage to Clio Jones on December 29, 1944 in Rochester. Clio and Marion moved to West Concord. Marion first began working as a secretary for the West Concord High School and later she worked 16 years for PORT (Probational Offenders Rehabilitation and Training) where she worked with troubled young adults. The couple returned to Rochester in 1980. Clio died February 5, 1987. Marion was a member of Rebekkah Lodge, the Methodist Hospital Pink Ladies and helped with the Head Start program. She served as church organist for many years at Concord Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, WrenMary Jones of Denver; a sister-in-law; and nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clio and her parents. Visitation will be held at Concord Church of Christ, Old Concord on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Concord Church of Christ with The Reverend Tim Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Island Cemetery in Pine Island. Memorials are preferred to the Concord Church of Christ or Madonna Towers. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord.
