Obituary

Marjorie E. Carlson, 78, of Owatonna, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Homestead Hospice House. She was born May 9, 1933 in, Minneapolis the daughter of Oscar and Mildred (Nelson) Timpte. Marjorie graduated from Excelsior High School with the class of 1951, and then attended Gustavous for one year when she returned home due to her mother's death. She married William "Bill" Carlson January 21, 1955 and the couple lived in Silver Bay, MN, until moving to Owatonna in 1973. While in Owatonna Marjorie taught art class through Community Ed Classes, was involved in the ladies home economics club, hospital volunteer, Elks Lodge, and was part owner of the Yankee Doodler store in downtown. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed gardening and painting. Her husband Bill died on July 6, 2009. She is survived by her children Jodi (and Mark) Conrath of Elk River; Bill (and Marilyn) Carlson of West Des Moines; and Bob (and Diane) Carlson of Aurora, IL; seven grandchildren Kara, Andy, Leah, Jeff, Tom, Bailey, and Makayla. She is also survived by one brother John (Beverly) Timpte of Palm Desert, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert, and granddaughter Marie. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday May 25, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Homestead Hospice House. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Visitation: 05/25/2011 13:00 05/25/2011 14:00 Service: 05/25/2011 14:00
