Marjorie Dorothy Knutson, 91, of Owatonna, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
She was born September 18, 1924 in Owatonna the daughter of Obert and Bernice (Baldwin) Moe. Marjorie married Palmer Knutson March 9, 1945. The couple farmed together in Havana Township and later in Somerset Township. Following her husbands death in 1970, Marjorie moved to Owatonna and continued working at OTC. She worked for OTC from June 1967 until her retirement on December 31, 1990.
Marjorie was a life long member of Aurora Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1985. Marjorie enjoyed flower gardening, dancing and watching birds. She loved making lefse as much as her family loved eating her lefse.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (and Greg) Springer of Calabasas, CA; sons, Larry (and Renee) Knutson of Blooming Prairie, Roger (and Mary) Knutson of Owatonna; grandchildren, Dawn (and Aaron) Reichel, Jackie (and Barry) Homuth, Nicole (and Rod) Peterson, Dan (and Leah) Knutson, Matt (and Melissa) Knutson; 8 great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 4 brothers.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm and at Aurora Lutheran Church on Thursday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held March 17, 2016 at 10:30am at Aurora Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephanie Wood officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Lutheran Church Cemetery.
