Marjorie Florence Olsen, 79, of Owatonna, died Friday, January 22, 2010 at United Hospital in St. Paul. She was born December 19, 1930 near Faribault the daughter of Waverly and Florence (Watson) Christie. Marjorie graduated from Faribault High School with the Class of 1948. She attended teachers training at Mankato State. Marjorie married Ralph Olsen June 16, 1956 in Faribault. Marjorie taught school in Lake Mills, IA, Chaska and Moundsview. She was a substitute teacher in Owatonna and worked for Bretts Department Store. Marjorie worked at the Federated Credit Union for 16 years before retiring. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was active in the church choir. She also was involved in getting the bell choir started at her church. Marjorie was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She enjoyed making crafts, painting, sewing, hardanger and knitting. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Olsen of Owatonna; daughters, Beth (and David) Myren of Eagan, Brenda (and Richard) Lounsbury of Knoxville, TN; sons, Paul (and Sharri) Olsen of Eleva, WI, Kent (and Amy) Olsen of Victoria; grandchildren, Sarah, Brent, Eric, Brian, Joshua, Andrew, Matthew, Alyssa; sister, Marion (and Lester) Reinhardt of Waseca; brother, Curtis (and Yvonne) Christie of Hastings and nieces and nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and 1 son. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm with an Eastern Star service at 8pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9am to 10am at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 10am at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the Order of the Eastern Star or to the donor''s choice.
