Johnson, age 58, of Owatonna died Sunday, March 29, 2020, near Mantorville as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on September 23, 1961, in Owatonna, the son of Gerald and Betty (Braaten) Johnson. He grew up on a farm near Lemond, attending country school for first grade, then Owatonna schools where he graduated with the Class of 1980. He continued his education at DeVry University, in Kansas City earning a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1984. Upon graduation he moved to Silicon Valley, CA and started his career at Signetics Corporation, where he met his future wife through company co-ed softball, of which he was the commissioner. He was united in marriage to Terry Pulsifer on April 29, 1989 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Lemond, MN. They continued to live in California until 1994, then relocated to Minnesota to raise their children, living in Faribault for nine years, Northfield for 16 years, and within the last year, Owatonna. He worked in various positions related to software engineering at EFI in Eagen for 22 years. Then worked at Image Trend in Lakeville and most recently at Northern Tool + Equipment. He was a friendly, positive and reliable person and was exceptionally supportive of others. He enjoyed bringing people together, and always saw the best in others. He enjoyed sports, athletics, movies and music. He loved children, teaching Sunday School to preschoolers for several years at Bethel Lutheran Church in Northfield. He loved his pets, especially his dogs. Most of all he loved and supported his family in every regard. He would want those remembering him to celebrate his life, not mourn his passing. Mark was a member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Terry of Owatonna; daughter, Carly Johnson of Owatonna; son, Spencer Johnson (and Brandon Miller) of San Luis Obispo, CA; father, Gerald Johnson of Owatonna, siblings, Sue (and Dave) Jensen of Willmar, David (and Cindy) Johnson of Owatonna and Darren (and Stacey) Johnson of Owatonna; mother-in-law, Margaret Pulsifer of Anderson, CA; sister-in-law, Gale Overdeck (and Rick) of Anderson, CA; brother-in-law, Lyndon Pulsifer (and Jean Fagerstrom) of Minneapolis and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Johnson; and father-in-law, Paul Pulsifer. Memorials preferred to Alzheimer Association, Humane Society, or Pontoppidan Lutheran Church.
