Marsha Lynn Christiansen, 77, of Eagan, formerly of Owatonna, died Saturday, February 24, 2024 at The Commons on Marice in Eagan.

She was born October 25, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Gordon and Marvel (Eidem) Christiansen. She grew up in Brooklyn Center and attended Osseo High School, graduating with the Class of 1964. She attended Mankato State College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1968. She later received her Master's degree in education from Pepperdine University, majoring in math and English.

Marsha began her teaching career in 1968. She taught at Glendora Unified School District, Glendora, CA, for 40 years, retiring in 2008 and was a part-time math and calculus instructor at Citrus College for 20 years. When not working, she enjoyed dancing, theatre (plays) and trivia.

Marsha's achievements and involvement in organizations include the following: former Math Department Chair at Glendora Unified School District, Advanced Placement (AP) Reader for Calculus – six years, Chairperson of WASC (Western Association of Schools & Colleges), Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) board member for 25 years along with being a two-time president, Glendora TAMS advisor (a girls service group), a charter member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority of Mankato State College, Alum Advisor for AGD for Mt. Baldy Chapter and USC Advisor for Delta Alpha Chapter, listed multiple times in the Who's Who of American Teachers, listed in Cambridge Who's Who of Professional Women, Kappan Award recipient for leadership, served with the International Professional Organization for Educators, received the International Service Key from Phi Delta Kappa and lastly she received the highest alum award from International AGD - Arc with diamonds and pearls - in 2006.

She is survived by sister, Nancy (Walter) Karsten of Owatonna; niece, Jennifer (Todd) Taylor and their children, Ethan Taylor, Brock Taylor and Isaak Taylor; nephew, Jason (Candice) Ahlman and their children Karissa (Devin) Unger, Gavin Ahlman, Paiton Ahlman and Wyatt Ahlman.

She was preceded in death by parents, Gordon and Marvel.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna with visitation one-hour prior. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna followed by a reception at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers friends are welcome to make donations to Grandparents for Education, Steele County Humane Society, or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
