Martha M. Meixner, age 95, of Owatonna, passed away on July 17, 2015 at Brookdale Living, Clare Bridge, Owatonna. Martha was born on March 2, 1920 to Joseph and Frances (Skalicky) Balzer at Bixby, Minnesota. She attended country school near Bixby and worked on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Tony Meixner on October 15, 1941 at the Associated Church. The couple moved to Deerfield Township. Tony passed away in 1982. Martha enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers in her garden. She sewed and made many beautiful quilts as well. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, old time music and watching birds out her windows at home. Martha is survived by her children, Beverly (and Myron) Wolters of Owatonna; Phyllis Harlicker (and friend Richard Knutson) of Claremont; Derald (and Judy) Meixner of Medford; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Resler of Owatonna; and Berniece Wesley of Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Meixner; her parents; a sister, Virginia Motl; and two brothers, Joseph Balzer and Lawrence Balzer. Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, 10:30 am at the Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Dave Klawiter, officiating.
